A room is more than 4 walls, a floor and a ceiling, that much is clear. Cultural phenomena, politics as well as social performance create space. There are virtual rooms, rooms for thought, imagined rooms and imaginative rooms,... – the list goes on. Who is in the space? Who is outside the space? How do we set up spaces, how do we furnish them? What do spaces tell us?... – This list goes on as well. Space is an umbrella term, which can be adapted and specified in various ways.
